Wow. They are always good on TV, but this is the first time they have performed on late night with the same energy they come with every other night. Good to see them getting more comfortable and having more fun out there!

T-Minues 8 Days till my next Avett Brother show (my third) in the beautiful city of Charleston, WV. Just a 3-hour hop, skip, and/or jump from Cincinnati. Totally worth the drive of course, but I wish the boys would stop in Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky as some point. To the best of my knowledge they haven’t been here since the Southgate House in 2008? They have come to Lexington, Louisville, Columbus, Dayton, etc… but not Cinci… Just an observation.
You know you are a true fan of a band when you voluntarily travel into West Virginia just to see them play!
The Carpenter Chords?
Does anyone know of a place where I can get the guitar chords for the new Avett Brothers album?? I cant wait to learn some of these songs.
I was wrong - it took all of one listen. Sure, there might be one or two songs that didn’t knock my socks off, but all in all, this is still my favorite band, and the album is a masterpiece. I am so happy they are finally getting some of the notoriety they deserve, and - Gap ad or no Gap ad - I don’t worry one bit about them becoming out-of-touch or (as they say in the south) “too big for their britches”. This is the most genuine, down-to-earth and talented band of our generation.
As they said themselves some time ago - “They may pay us off in fame, but that is not why we came, and if it compromises truth then we will go”
